Simpsonville, SC (8/30/23) – A wet evening could not keep fans from lining up early outside of the CCNB Amphitheater this evening.  Hurricane Idalia was no match for the loyalty of the crowd in attendance to see 3 Doors Down and Candlebox take to the stage for a night of hit songs and nostalgic memories.

Candlebox, fronted by Kevin Martin, delivered their signature Seattle sound through a rain soaked performance.  The set included many songs from the bands debut self titled album such as “Cover Me,” “You” and “Arrow.”  “Far Behind” was preceded by a moment honoring many of the Seattle grunge scenes late artist.  Celebrating 30yrs is a great thing but unfortunately the band has announced their farewell. The band has given us one last studio album titled, “The Long Goodbye” released just 5 days ago on August 25th with a punchy new single called “Punks.” With such a strong new album and stage performance it’s a sad thing to see the current rounded out lineup of Adam Kurry (bass), Brian Quinn (guitar), Island Styles (guitar) and BJ Kerwin (drums) coming to an end.

With an American flag standing strongly on stage the rains departed and 3 Doors Down emerged amongst the lights. Celebrating 20yrs of their “Away From The Sun” the band would go on to play the album in its entirety.  The set kicked off with an originally unreleased track “Pop Song” before delving into other fan favorites “Ticket To Heaven,” “Here Without You,” “It’s Not My Time” and more. Throughout the set were moments of thanks to our troops and veterans and fans. No 3DD show could be complete without a few songs from the groups debut album “The Better Life.”  “Duck and Run” and “Loser” were mingled in as “Kryptonite” would close the show as an encore.

Frontman Brad Arnold is joined by guitarist Chris Henderson, drummer Greg Upchurch, guitarist Chet Roberts and Justin Biltonen on bass. The group will continue the anniversary tour through October 21st ending with a performance at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in Cherokee, NC benefiting their “The Better Life Foundation.”
