Concord, California (8/17/24) – “The Best of All Worlds” – I had the amazing opportunity to cover the Sammy Hagar show at the Toyota Pavilion in Concord, California.
Backed by an all-star cast of musicians, including Grammy nominated guitarist Joe Satriani, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and Jason Bonham, the show was kicked off appropriately with the Hagar tune “Stand Up“.
As Hagar and the illustrious band blazed through an amazing discography of songs spanning 50 plus years, anyone in attendance could tell Sammy was having a blast. If the music was not enough, the interaction with the fans and band members would most definitely seal the deal.
Sammy performed all the hits you would expect, including both Roth and Hagar fronted Van Halen tunes, as well as several songs from his solo catalog. Of course, he would be remiss if he didn’t throw in a Montrose or a Chickenfoot song, so those were expertly played as well.
The two hour and 15 minute set culminated with the Van Halen song, “When It’s Love“. Sammy Hagar and the band sounded absolutely amazing, and after performing for over two hours, Sammy definitely left it ALL out on that stage.
A show that encapsulated over 50 years of Rock music was truly the Best of ALL Worlds!!!Â
