Charlotte, NC (March 4th, 2020) – Tonight the “Victorious” tour rolled in to Charlotte, NC for a show at The Fillmore.  Tonight’s headliner is Skillet who are out in support of their latest album of the same name. Fans lined the sidewalk waiting for entry time showing support for the band with their Skillet apparel. Guest openers for the event From Ashes To New and Ledger had their fair share of the crowd with fan gear on as well. Once inside the scene was a bit different than most shows I attend. Being a Christian music based event their were lots of kids in attendance rocking out on the shoulders of their parents.

Starting the show was Skillet’s drummer Jennifer Ledger who took center stage for a set of pop infused rock. Showcasing her vocal abilities Ledger entertained the crowd for a 7 song set. Including songs such as “Not Dead Yet” from her 2018 solo EP and the recent February 2020 single release “My Arms” she worked the stage drawing in the crowd. Setting the bar high with an energetic performance many fans were seen using phones to look up her music during the set break.

From Ashes To New kept the energy going with dual vocals leading the front.  With a rap rock/nu metal sound the group hyped the crowd as fans sang along to songs such as “Through It All” and “Breaking Now.” With a light show matching the bands every move From Ashes To New commanded the crowds attention. Although their have been some member changes within the group the drive and determination has not faltered as the band consistently provides great music and live entertainment.

As Korey Cooper (Guitar/Keys), Seth Morrison (Guitar), Jen Ledger (Drums/Vocals) and John Cooper (Lead Vocals/Bass) walked out on to the stage fans erupted in cheer. Kicking off the show with “Feel Invincible” and “Not Gonna Die” Skillet wastes no time showing why they are a band to be seen live. Every member worked the stage and crowd who were fist pumping and singing along. Throughout the set the group provided stories of inspiration and hope.

Included in the set were many of the groups well known songs like “Awake and Alive” and “Monster.” Skillet also mixed in some of the new material as well from their latest release. The albums title track“Victorious” along with “You Ain’t Ready” and “Legendary” kept fans fired up. With dates continuing through March 14th for the current tour you can get your fill of new and old Skillet music.
