Murrell’s Inlet, SC (5/12/21) – Southern rock band Blackberry Smoke is back out on the road and made a stop at Suck Bang Blow. The venue is known as one of the top biker bars and place to be. Hosting a number of big names for the Spring Bike Rally week BBS made there appearance right in the heart of the week on Wednesday evening. It may have been an unusually cold, gloomy, rainy day outside but as showtime neared a mass of loyal fans took their spots in front of the stage.

With the rain coming in Blackberry Smoke fans stood in anticipation “Waiting For The Thunder.” The bang didn‘t come from the sky though. Instead it came from the stage as BBS took their places to play for all their “Brothers and Sisters” in the crowd. As always the long haired gents packed their set full of fan favorite songs spanning across all of their album release. Many fans, like myself, we’re ready to hear some new music as well. Having been teased the last couple months with a few singles from the upcoming “You Hear Georgia“ album, that holds a due date of May 28th, the band fulfilled those wishes. Along with the title track came live performances of 2 other new songs as well, “Hey Delilah” and “Ain’t The Same.”  If those songs are any indication of what the rest of the album is to be like then you won‘t be disappointed as it definitely fits right in with the bands previous catalog.

As a long time fan I’ve seen the band multiple times through the last 13yrs in many various settings. That being said I have to say this may have been my favorite show yet. The element of bike week with the surprisingly cold rainy weather made an unexpected atmosphere for the show. Fans never waived in their support of the band through the elements and the rain provided a uniquely somber affect to songs like ”One Horse Town“ and my personal favorite Tom Petty cover of “You Got Lucky.”

The band listed as “always on tour” is back out on the road eager to see you in the crowd. Keep up with all things BBS at www.blackberrysmoke.com and be sure to add the new album to your pre-order list.
