Charlotte, NC (July 28th, 2019) – Tonight 4 bands invaded Amo’s Southend with such energy and ear crunching guitar riffs I wasn’t sure if the 4 walls could contain it all. As the line of fans built outside the venue the bands inside could be heard doing soundcheck only increasing the excitement of the show to come. I believe these groups got it right labeling this run of shows as “The Firestorm Tour” because a firestorm is what was to happen as the doors opened for Through FireLike A StormWilson and Stitched Up Heart

Stitched Up Heart

First up for the evening was the female fronted rock group Stitched Up Heart from Los Angeles, CA. Touring in support of their latest single “Problems” the group lit up the stage with their presence. Lead vocalist Mixi prowling back and forth as the band delivered hard hitting, edgy rock riffs. Stitched Up Heart may have a darker outward appearance but the groups lyrics focus on pushing through hard times and self-awareness as the new single showcases. From start to finish this group never let off the throttle delivering a powerful set that could be seen as intimidating for the following acts. As the band progressed through their set Mixi introduced another new song titled “Lost” which features Sully Erna of Godsmack on the recording. For the live performance Grant Kendrick of Through Fire shared the vocal duties giving the fans a nice surprise.

Wilson

With a bit of Hip-Hop infused rock, quirky song lyrics and dressed like a 1980’s workout video the band Wilson welcomed everyone to their self proclaimed “House of Fuckery.” Songs like “Windows Down” had the crowd jumping and fist in the air. Frontman Chad  Nicefield stating that no one in the room needed to “Fuck Up My High” because music unites us all and everyone in attendance is here to have a good time. Hailing from Detroit, MI the group spent nearly a decade of taking themselves to serious so they chose to change the bands sound to a more laid back approach and just have fun. Still providing some raunchy guitar licks and pounding drums Wilson hyped the crowd with a cover performance of the Limp Bizkit hit “Rollin’.” The 5 piece provided a great “Summertime Treat” for the evening having everyone laughing and rockin’ with songs from their latest album “Tasty Nasty.”

Like A Storm

From New Zealand come the modern rockers Like A Storm with their newest, self produced album release “Catacombs.” After a trip to Paris providing influence for the band the group began work on 11 songs that embrace looking past the surface to find what’s hidden inside. The three brothers of the group, Chris Brooks (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Matt Brooks (Vocals/Guitar) and Kent Brooks (Bass) joined by Zach Woods (Drums) give a sonic blend of deep lyricism, heavy guitars, solid rhythm section of bass and drums backed by layers of keys and didgeridoo.

Filling their set with fan favorite songs such as “Become The Enemy,” “The Devil Inside” and “Wish You Hell” Like A Storm kept fans on begging for more. Giving two covers for the night the band gave a rock rendition of the Coolio hit “Gangsta’s Paradise” and a haunting version of “Crawling” by Linkin’ Park as they took a moment to reflect on the passing of Chester Bennington

Called back to the stage for an encore Like Storm finished strong with “Break Free” and “Love The Way You Hate Me.” With the later song being the one that helped bring the band to popularity in North America frontman Chris joined the crowd mid song thanking fans and taking pics.

Through Fire

Making a set change finally it was time for the last band of the evening, Through Fire. Riding the wave of enthusiasm surrounding the bands new album, “All Animal,” it seemed the group had a lot to live up to. Making sure not to disappoint they didn’t hesitate to “Breakout” their high energy performance immediately upon taking the stage. Since the release of their first album in 2016 Through Fire has been pushing to make a name for themselves. Touring with other notables like SeetherSick Puppies and OTEP the band has gained a loyal following with their intense stage show while charting songs like “Breathe” and “Stronger. The bands latest album keeps the momentum going with tunes like “Sick & Tired” and “Breaking Point.” The group also threw in an awesome cover of the Roxette hit song “Listen To Your Heart.”

The four members, Grant KendrickJustin McCainGrant Brooks and Kyle Leblanc, of Through Fire continue to give rock fans what they want with through their new album and live show.

The “Firestorm” tour continues with tour dates through August 10th, 2019 with the last show being in Lincoln, Nebraska.
