Seattle rockers Candlebox took the stage with a great sense of enthusiasm.  The band extended their “The Long Goodbye” tour to join in on this run of shows. For the fans who thought that the bands live concert days were “Far Behind” this was a great addition to the show. Frontman Kevin Martin delivered an amazing  performance engaging the crowd with each note he sang. “Change” and “Cover Me” were set list staples that had the audience on their feet. Closing the set with “You” left fans wanting more as the band gave way to fellow grunge scene alumni, Jerry Cantrell.

Known for providing the down and dirty riffs that cemented Alice In Chains as musical icons, Cantrell once again proved why he is always a name at the top of iconic guitar players lists. Opening the set with his latest single “Vilified” Jerry showcased his instantly recognizable style. Cantrell delivered a mix of songs from his solo work such as, “Had To Know” and “Atone” as well as classic AIC hits like “Man In The Box” and “Them Bones” His time on stage was focused more on the music than crowd interaction but sure didn’t seem to matter to fans as it meant more songs. Cantrell closed out his performance with “Rooster.”

With an instantly recognizable opening riff to “Everything Zen” the crowd rose to their feat after a set change for what would be a 12 song set and a 4 song encore from Bush. Hard to believe that frontman Gavin Rossdale and the band are celebrating 30yrs since the release of their album “Sixteen Stone.”  Filing their night with an array of hits spanning their extensive catalog of music it’s easy to see why this band is still going strong. “The Chemicals Between Us” and “The Sound of Winter” kept things rocking.  Gavin’s solo performances of “Swallowed” and “Glycerine” gave a mellow balance to the dynamic set.

During “Flowers on the Grave” Rossdale left the stage to engage with the crowd up close and personal. As he made his way through the sea of fans he took time to shake hands and sing along with many. “Little Things” like this, giving back to loyal supporters, made for a great memorable moment and show that the band really values their fans.

The band gave an electrifying performance of the classic “Come Together” by The Beatles before having Jerry Cantrell join in on “Comedown” as the nights closer.

The “Loaded: The Greatest Hits Tour” continues through September 21st ending in Washington, DC. Be sure to get your tickets now.
