Greenville, SC (5/7/22) – With a busy schedule of weddings, graduation, and family photos it’s not often I get to work with a band twice. When I found out Jon Langston was coming back into town I knew I he was definitely an artist I wanted to work with again. Somehow everything fell into place, and I ended up right back at the Blind Horse Saloon in Greenville, SC with Jon and my camera in hand.
Opening the show was Georgia boy Noah Hicks. Noah’s bio says “just a small town boy, with a big city dream.” Storming the stage with his hat pulled down and southern swagger he showed all of Greenville that statement was true. He kept the crowd cheering and in his hands with every song. The chemistry Wade Davis, his guitar player, and the rest of the band have on stage made the show even more entertaining. Keep a look out for this guy as he keeps pushing forward in country music. Also take a moment and give his tunes a listen. Check out “I Can Tell You’re a Small Town” EP.
After Covid, gas prices, busy schedules, and lots of waiting it was time to work on my second Jon Langston show. Did I mention it was also my birthday? I gave up a huge night to chase Jon around with a camera again. Sure all my friends assumed I was “Prob’ly At A Bar ” anyway. I’m sure only his real fans will get that pun. The energy and whole vibe Jon and his band brings makes you feel like you’re at some backwoods southern house party. Playing hits like “All Eyes on Us” and “Forever Girl” you feel like you’re on a tailgate with friends in a field listening to music. Langston made everything even more southern and intimate when he got his bottle of Crown and came to the edge of stage to drink with the crowd. People like Jon coming up in the industry just might be what saves country music. How many pop country artists do you see jump on stage with camouflage coats and a can of dip in their pockets?
His music is spread all over the internet. Grab a few songs on Apple music then head to Youtube to catch some videos. Talk to your friends and tell them to help spread the word for both these artists.
