The “Live and Unzoomed Tour” made its way to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC for a night of classic rock hits. Featuring REO Speedwagon and STYX along with guest Loverboy it was sure to be an amazing night. Fans packed into the arena for what would be nostalgic evening reflecting into the past as the 3 iconic bands provided the soundtrack to memories of the past.

Loverboy would take the stage first. Band members are Mike Reno (vocals), Paul Dean (guitar), Matt Frenette (drums), Ken “Spider” Sinnaeve (bass) and Doug Johnson (keyboards) have been rockin’ since the late 70’s. They have seen a multitude of success with 4 multi-platinum albums charting hit songs. “Turn Me Loose” and “Working For The Weekend” had the crowd reflecting back to the bands days on MTV. Working the stage and engaging with fans Loverboy proved to be a great choice to have along on the tour.

Touring in support of their latest Billboard chart topping album “Crash of The Crown,” released on June 18th, 2021, co-headliners STYX was the second up for the night. The bands energetic set featured music new and old that had fans singing and dancing along. “Come Sail Away,” “Mr. Roboto,” “Renegade” and “Too Much Time On My Hands” were some of the notable staples of the bands extensive career. Current band members James “J.Y.” Young (lead vocals, guitar), Tommy Shaw (lead vocals, guitar), Todd Sucherman (drums, percussion), Lawrence Gowan (lead vocals, keyboards), Ricky Phillips (bass, guitar, vocals), Will Evankovich (guitar) wowed the audience through a set of 14 songs. A highlight of the night was when founding member Chuck Panozzo (Bass) was met with a deafening round of applause as he rejoined the band for a few songs throughout the last half of the set.

Kevin Cronin (lead vocals, guitar), Bruce Hall (bass), Dave Amato (lead guitar), Neal Doughty (keyboards), and Bryan Hitt (drums) collectively known as REO Speedwagon would close out the night. The band has an over 50yr career giving fans decades of memorable hit songs. “Don’t Let Him Go” and “Take It On The Run” would kick off the set. Two of the bands biggest hits are the lighter ballads “Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore” and “Keep On Lovin’ You” that both reached number one on the Billboard Charts. These songs had fans lighting up the arena with cellphones reminiscent of the days lighters were used. It was great to see the band still enjoying themselves on stage and sounding so good after all these years. With band members in their 70’s it sure doesn’t seem like there’s any signs of slowing down.
