Charlotte, NC (1/19/22) – Currently out on their “I’m About To Explode” tour Nonpoint made their return Amo’s Southend in Charlotte, NC. Previously scheduled for an appearance in 2021 the band experienced a accident that damaged their trailer and equipment. With the release of a new Ep titled “Ruthless” on December 27, 2021 and new dates in order the band took to the stage ready to introduce fans to a newly energized Nonpoint. Fans cheering and singing along as the 5 piece powered through the first three songs of the set before things came to a halt. Sudden technical issues put the band on a 25min delay before moving forward with the show. Instead of being mad and storming off as I’ve seen other groups do frontman Elias broke into an improvised comedy session sparking lighthearted talks of himself being an opening act for the next tour. Other band members were seen engaging with fans as well, doing crazy dances, etc to pass the time. With the green light given Nonpoint dove back into the show as if nothing happened.  A mixture of older favorites and the fan voted for cover of the Prince classic “When Doves Cry” had the crowd on their feet and jumping. Delivering the new Ep in its entirety as well those in attendance found it much worth the wait through the earlier troubles. No matter how many times I see this band it never gets old. The group maintains a youthful stage presence, truly appreciate their fans and new music consistently shows the growth but familiarity of the band. Nonpoint never fail to show they are still “Alive & Kicking”

Also on the evenings bill were the rap rockers Discrepancies from St. Louis.  Blending hip hop  lyrical cadences over heavy, yet melodic guitar riffs the band came to “Rock The Show.”  Providing a fresh take on a familiar genre has given the band much success. Streaming platforms have seen millions of plays on songs such as “Control” and “Not Alone.” The band has shared the stage with other notable acts such as Breaking Benjamin, P.O.D., Starset and more. With a live show that commands attention it’s easy to see why this band “Get Hype” every where they go.

Local band Scars Remain provided the opening set for the evening.
