Greenville,SC (4/23/22) – I still remember getting in my wife’s car a few weeks ago and she was listening to “After A Few“. She spoke about how catchy and melodic the song is. Well, maybe she didn’t say melodic. That was more of me, she’s not the music one. However, it has a hook that sticks in your head from the moment you first hear it. When I was informed that Travis Denning would be coming to The Blind Horse Saloon I was pretty excited that I got to add the show to my photography schedule. Let me start this by saying how humble and down to earth Travis and his band were. Guitarist Matthew Davidson and I have even struck up conversation online since the show. Let me tell you, that guy can play. A lot of you may not take me seriously being a drummer, but go catch him live and you will see what I’m talking about. The high energy of him and Travis playing and rocking out together keeps the show feeling so alive. The evening wasn’t full of up and coming bands. The show was just Travis coming out and taking care of business. He started the night with his song “Call It Country.” After that, he already had the crowd holding beers in the air dying for more. Whether he was singing, playing, or walking around he always had a microphone entertaining everyone, especially with songs like “She’s On It” and “Dirt Road Down.” It’s always fun working shows like this and becoming a fan. You get to watch the artist on their ride to the top. Word is he’ll be back in town in a few months with Dierks Bentley, really hoping to make it out and work with these guys again. Whatever streaming you use, take a moment out of your day to listen to what Travis has to offer. Denning and his band are worth the extra laps around town for a good listen. Trust me, you’ll become a fan. If you’re more of a visual person, check out all the videos on youtube.
