North Augusta, GA (9/25/21) – Grammy Award winner, Kennedy Center Honoree, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and Billboard Century Award winner are just a few of the numerous honors that are accredited to Carlos Santana. His legendary guitar sounds have spanned decades and generations of fans since the 1960’s. It doesn’t matter what style of music a song may be you can easily pick up on Santana’s signature style and sound. Integrating a Latin American/Mexican cultural style into his playing Santana stands out from many other guitar virtuosos. Santana has remained relevant through the years as a solo artist buy staying true to his roots but also doing many collaborations with other notable artists. For many such as myself, being 37, I grew up having heard songs like “Black Magic Woman” but it wasn’t really until the song “Smooth” hit the airwaves in 1999 featuring Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 that I really paid attention as did many others in my age group. The album “Supernatural” casted a legend into a new group of fans. Fast forward to 20 plus years later and Santana is currently out on his “Blessings and Miracles” tour supporting his upcoming album of the same name to be released on October 15th, 2021. The album is another star studded feature bringing in artist such as Chris StapletonDiane Warren and Kirk Hammett just to name a few.

The live set features many of the new songs such as “Move” which is another Rob Thomas match up. There’s also plenty of the classics giving a variety to Santana fans of all decades. The precision playing of Carlos is backed by a phenomenal group of musicians who provide a solid foundation for Santana to display his skills. Featured in the band is drummer Cindy Blackman who is the wife of the guitar master. Cindy’s skills were showcased with a drum solo that had many jaw dropped as they watched her perform.

At 74yrs of age Carlos Santana is still able to wow audiences and make it look effortless. As a photographer sometimes you get lost in focusing on just doing a job and getting your shots. However, when you’re in the photo pit and one of your musical idols is sometimes only inches away you find yourself forgetting to hit that shutter button as you just get lost in the moment. Do yourself a favor and make it a point to see a Santana show and check out the upcoming “Blessings and Mircales” album coming out soon. Check in to www.Santana.com for all music and tour updates.
