Greenville, SC (January 25th, 2020) – A lot has changed since the last concert review.  Camera has been packed up while I’ve been busy being a father to a new born little boy .  But decided it was time to get 2020 started.  Chris Lane and the “Big, Big, Plans Tour” definitely was worth me getting off my couch and rushing to Greenville‘s Blindhorse Saloon

MacKenzie Porter

Kicking off the night with an acoustic set was up and coming artist MacKenzie Porter.  Don’t let the looks of small size fool you because she has a set of lungs and vocals on her that will grab your attention.  Best part of the set was doing an Alanis Morissette cover with the crowd.  She had one hand in her pocket and the other leading the crowd into an amazing night.

Ernest

Hitting the stage next was Ernest, or as some call him the “Tropical Cowboy“.  This guy has been living in Nashville for awhile working behind the scenes writing songs for national acts.  Deciding to put his talent on stage and behind the mic, Ernest is worth keeping your eye on.  With his unique twist on country and hip hop he’ll have you wanting more.  After his performance I was wondering through the crowd and caught people in looking him up online to keep up with what he’s doing next.

Blanco Brown

So, have you heard of “TrailerTrap” music?  Well I hadn’t until this show.  That’s what Blanco Brown calls the music he brings to the table.  Starting his set with some soulful singing then bouncing into some old school OutKast he had everyone one in the building begging for Ms. Jackson’s forgiveness.  Before we could all catch our breath it was time to do “The Git Up“.  I had the privilege to speak with him after the show for a moment.  He’s just a fun loving guy who loves music and entertaining others.

Chris Lane

With the lights black and the sold out crowd on their feet, it was finally time for Chris Lane to take the stage.  With his hit “I Don’t Know About You” blowing up the radio, it was obvious this Carolina boy had become a house hold name.  With fog spraying and Chris taking a moment to take drink with the crowd, he knows how to take control of the stage and make sure all eyes are on him.  Giving us a high energy country show with a small taste of rock n roll to go with it.  Mid set he took a moment to bring a female from the crowd on stage and sing her a song entertaining the crowd while laughing and taking fun selfies with her throughout the song. This was definitely a moment this lady will not forget and may have made all the other females a little jealous.  It was amazing watching the crowd throughout Lane’s set as they sang along to all his songs filling the room with energy.

I have to take a moment to brag about everyone on this tour.  Everyone from the artists to their crews were super nice and down to earth.  Such humble and talented people.  If this tour rolls into your town, make sure you grab a ticket before it sells out! Check out the dates below.
