Greenville, SC (3/9/24) – Touring in support of their latest release, “Lighting Up The Sky” the band Godsmack rolled into Greenville, SC. Currently out on their “Vibez Tour” the band has traded the flashy pyrotechnics and loud amps for a more laid back, semi acoustic show. The multi award winning band would take the Peace Center crowd on a journey through 25yrs of chart topping hit songs. Entwined throughout the set were back stories of many songs and how music is a universal and mysterious connection. The tour, focusing on smaller theaters, featured a stage full of candles and two massive Gargoyles as bookends provided more of an intimate feel like a throwback to the MTV Unplugged series. Godsmack delivered more of a dynamic and raw musical performance than their typical crank it to eleven, in your face rock style.

Fans joined the group in singing along to songs such as, “Love, Hate, Sex, Pain,” “Serinity” and “Bulletproof.”  A nice feature of the evening were the multiple cover songs added in from groups like Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Metallica and closing with their popular cover of “Come Together”

As Sully Erna (vocals), Tony Rombola (guitar), Robbie Merrill (bass), and Shannon Larkin (drums) left the stage fans were left wanting more. It’s hard to believe with such a powerful performance that Godsmack has said their latest album release will be their last. With 8 albums under their belt, three in a row that debuted at number one, and delivering 25 top ten rock radio hits it sure seems the band has a lot more to deliver.

BASTIAN DA CRUZ

The opener for tonight was an artist I had previously been unfamiliar with, Bastian Da Cruz. Hailing from Denmark with a much softer and more singer, songwriter style this sure seemed like an odd pairing for the tour. However, by the end of the 30min, 9 song set, myself and many others were convinced otherwise. Bastian Da Cruz delivers a powerful vocal performance with equal guitar abilities. Songs such as “Hero,” written for a friend, and “Walking Away,” my personal favorite, captivated the crowd as he drew in early arrivers from the lobby. These songs and others can be found on his album titles “21” just released in January of 2024.

The “Vibez Tour” continues through May 5th, 2024 ending with a performance in Oxen, Maryland.
