Mudvayne brings Psychotherapy Sessions tpur to PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte North Carolina

Charlotte, NC (7/23/23) – For the first time in 14 years Mudvayne has embarked on a headlining tour. Dubbed the “Psychotherapy Sessions” the band is bringing along other heavy metal rockers Coal Chamber, GWAR, Nonpoint and the Butcher Babies. Chad Gray of Mudvayne gave insight to the tours name explaining how music heals and saved his life and how it does the same for others, like a form of therapy.  The 3rd installment of the venture has brought the lineup to PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC.

Mudvayne

Unfortunately a thunderstorm rolled in and ended the show early but not before Mudvayne delivered 12 of their fan favorite songs. “World So Cold,” “Not Falling” and “Death Blooms” all had the crowd pumping fists in the air. Much of the bands set came from their 2000 album release “L.D. 50.” The band reunited in 2021 and co-headlined the “Freaks on Parade” tour with Rob Zombie in 2022.  Since then there have been hints from the members online of possible new music to come soon giving hope that this reunion is not short lived.

Coal Chamber

Coal Chamber is also out on the road for their first real tour in nearly 8yrs. The band delivered a set list of songs mainly from their 1997 self titled debut album and 2002’s “Dark Days.” Having warmed up with a few festival gigs recently the band gave a powerful performance that had the crowd going “Loco.”

GWAR

GWAR is one of those bands you just have to experience at least once. The stage costumes and theatrics are like a horror comic book brought to life. Stage antics are accompanied by some hard hitting metal riffs as the band chants “Let Us Slay.” The crowd is spared no mercy as literally gallons of blood rain down upon them from the severed appendages of the stage characters.

Nonpoint

Nonpoint is just a band that never disappoints. This 5 piece has been held together since 1997 with core members Elias Soriano (vocals) and drummer Robb Rivera. Distinctive vocal phrasing from melodic to rap infused melodies layered over hard hitting drum beats and guitar riffs make this band a stand out with their unique style. Teamed with the energetic stage performance that has your head moving, not only to the music, but back and forth to keep up with the members action the Nonpoint set is definitely reason to arrive early.

Butcher Babies

Butcher Babies is a much needed band in the metal scene. Not many hardcore bands are fronted by women and definitely not on a stage of this scale. Heidi and Carla smoothly deliver a mix of soft and pure vocals to in your face screaming. Their hair whips in motion as the duo drives an adrenaline infused set

The Psychotherapy Sessions tour currently runs through August 26th in Englewood, Colorado.
