Greenville, SC (1/22/21) – On a cold Friday evening in Greenville, SC the PBR was firing things up inside the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. The arena has been a staple for the bull riding event that’s in town for their second stop of the Velocity Tour. With a two day stay night one would feature 6 rounds with 45 riders.  Colten Fritzlan (Wrangler National Final Rodeo Champion) would make his first 2021 appearance along with the debut of Michael Lane. You could feel the adrenaline running throughout the venue as fans cheered on their favorites riders. 

With some of tonight’s riders advancing to Saturday’s round 2 there was plenty of strong competition. Other notable riders like Ky Hamilton (Australia) and Wallace Vieira de Oliveira (Brazil) have exciting rides as they did their best to hold on for that 8 second ride. 

Cody Casper of Newport, Washington would go on to take 1st place for the evening wowing  the crowd with an 88 point ride on Cupcake. Seth White (NC) took second with an 86.5 point ride on Fu Man Chu. In the second PWVT event of his career and as a newcomer to the U.S. rider Marcelo Procopio Pereira (Brazil) scored 85.5 points on Zacchaues.

Fourth place ended in a 3-way tie between Leonardo Lima (Brazil), Logan Biever (Canada) and Jake Lockwood (Montana) all giving 84 point rides. Seventh place was split as well with 83.5 point rides from Michael Lane (Virginia) and Laramie Craigen (Texas).  

Twelve of this evenings top riders advance to Round 2 tomorrow where the top 18 rider in buckoff time will join them. A championship round of the top 15 riders will follow with the invitational winner receiving an automatic invite to a PBR premier Unleash The Beast series event this season.
