Greenville, SC – Febuary 22nd was the night Trevor HewittAshland Craft, and Little Texas came to The Firmament to remind us all what what country music is really about.  The evenings event began with just one guy and his acoustic guitar.  Trevor Hewitt opened the show with a few laughs and some great songs.  He brought a great vibe showing everyone they were in for an entertaining night.

Taking the stage second was up and coming artist Ashland Craft, all the way from Nashville.  The upstate native reminded Greenville she knows how to take care of business, playing everything from Reba Mcentire to some catchy originals.  She had an amazing talented band to back her up; drums perfectly in time, amazing back up vocals, and guitars catching your attention with every note.  Even her grandparents were right beside me cheering all of them on  the whole time.

If you ever get the chance to meet these guys backstage after a show, they dont even seem like a band.  They seem like friends and family, and a joy to be around.  It’s not often you see a singer carrying drums and guitar cabinets.

Last but not least, around 10 the lights went completely black.  The crowd heard what they’ve been waiting for all night. “Ladies and gentleman, who’s ready for Little Texas”.  From a broke down tour bus and an evening of other troubles, these guys pushed through and showed they were still alive and ready to “Kick a “Little“.  A big highlight of the night was watching Porter Howell walk the entire venue and never quit playing guitar, all while Duane Propes and the rest of the band kept the crowd pumping.  Then they slowed things down as everyone swayed and sang along to “What Might Have Been“, but they weren’t done yet.  They came front stage for a photo with the fans, danced around just jamming out, and never quit smiling and laughing with each other.  They knew everyone was still itching for their biggest hit “God Bless Texas“.  When they finally delivered, the crowd sang a long at the top of their lungs.  As the night grew to an end, it was obvious their hits would stand the test of time.
