Spartanburg, SC (2/16/22) – With a career of 30 plus years and still going strong you’d have to live under a rock to not know who Travis Tritt is. The multi-platinum, award winning artist initially broke on to the scene as part of the famed “Class of ‘89.” Consisting of other notable artists Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Clint Black the Marietta, GA native managed to stand out by doing his own thing. Tritt was not one for doing the typical cliche cowboy hat or song styles. Blending bits of Gospel, Southern Rock and blues Travis garnered a lifetime of fans with his own brand of country music. Tritt has performed for sold out audiences for three decades as well as high profile events which include the 1996 Olympic Games and 2 Super Bowls amongst others.

On the heels of his latest 2021 album release “Set In Stone” Travis has embarked on a solo acoustic tour. Gearing up for “An Evening With Travis Tritt” long time fans took their places inside the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Performing a two hour set the country star provided hit after hit taking the crowd on a nostalgic trip back in time through his extensive career. Songs such as “I’m Gonna Be Somebody,” “Country Club” and “Where Corn Don’t Grow” had fans singing along all evening. The neat thing about artist doing these solo acoustic shows is that it provides a little more of an intimate setting. As Travis explained himself it feels more like playing for friends in your living room than an actual show. Tritt took time to explain the history of some of his songs and famed accompanying videos as well. He told about playing a wounded veteran for the “Anymore” video and how it was to work with real wounded veterans in Murfreesboro, TN and that leading to being a celebrity spokesperson for the DAV. Travis spoke about the process of being transformed in to an elderly man for the “More Than You’ll Ever Know” shoot and how his own parents couldn’t tell it was him.

As the show would go on Tritt addressed the current state of country music and how it’s the same repetitive thing over and over again. He stated how the songs have no substance and meaning to them. Introducing new music from his first album of original music in over a decade Tritt brought the music back to its foundations with “Smoke In A Bar” and the title track “Set In Stone.” Performing a Waylon Jennings medley and covering a Charlie Daniels song Travis would also pay respect to two of his greatest mentors who became very close friends as well.

The current solo tour runs through February 27th ending in Pennsylvania. Travis then joins up with his full band for a string of dates beginning March 11th in Alabama.

P.S.- no one got in any “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” for not wearing a mask either.
